This article makes me think of my own conviction that one of the worst things about The Discourse™️ is the incessant need of everybody to exculpate themselves and be the hero in a struggle of Good against Evil. Having dealt fairly recently with some hardcore Zionist posters like Elena Gomel I think that to some degree they *want* anti-Semitism, or at least just enough of it that they can draw meaning and a sense of destiny from it without having to really suffer the consequences. To an extent they have accepted the foundational logic of anti-Semitism itself but with an inverted valence: that Jews are somehow uniquely alienated from the rest of humanity, with no possibility of reconciliation. Not just Muslims but Christians, secular humanists, and all sorts of other groups are enemies and Israel's existence is an act of heroic resistance against evil Gentiles like myself.

"October 7 is better seen like a brutal, Native American attack on encroaching Westerners than an act of Jihadi terror."

There's actually some truth to this. The horrifying part is that you're on the side of the savages.
